Senior Accountant Needed – Hybrid Role – Benefits and 401k

Familia Dental and Vivid Smiles is looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. This hybrid role, featuring minimum 3 days / week in our Schaumburg office and two days work from home, is a terrific opportunity for an experienced accountant looking to grow professionally. In this role, in addition to managing the variable compensation program for our dentists, you will have the opportunity to share your skills in other areas of the accounting function including general ledger, treasury and the monthly close process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, excellent excel skills and a desire to grow professionally.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Oversee the calculation and processing of variable compensation payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with employee contracts and company policies.
• Monitor and report on cash balances and bank transactions.
• Communicate timely with operations and revenue cycle teams regarding cash balances.
• Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement new systems and technologies to streamline operations.
• Review and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential risks.
• Prepare financial reports and presentations for management.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure confidentiality of all sensitive financial data, including compensation information, payroll records, and other accounting records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Strong Excel skills and knowledge of accounting software (e.g., ERP systems).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have dedicated workspace at home in order to work remote including a setup that can accommodate multiple monitors and ability to participate on camera for team meetings.
