Posting Summary Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Data Analyst for the Emergency Medicine Department withing NJMS.
The Data Analyst will support the Opioid Response Team (ORT) by providing data-driven insights to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of opioid use disorder (OUD) and substance use disorder (SUD) programs, including harm reduction and medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) services.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Design workflows, analytical processes, reports, and methodological frameworks to ensure the adequacy, accuracy, and integrity of data used to measure programmatic outcomes for the ORT and associated SUD/OUD programming.
- Present complex data clearly through charts, graphs, tables, and narratives, tailored to various audiences. Data will be used for quality improvement, resource planning, policy development, and community education regarding the ORT’s activities and outcomes.
- Collect and analyze data to provide actionable insights on the continuum of care for SUD/OUD patients, including prehospital MOUD linkage and harm reduction services provided by the ORT.
- Create and maintain datasets from evaluations and surveys to gather feedback on ORT effectiveness, identifying opportunities for improving patient care and services.
- Use data-driven metrics to continuously monitor, evaluate, and report on the success and impact of ORT programming, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Provide guidance to Essex County Division of Community Health Services (DCHS), Rutgers NJMS leadership, and ORT stakeholders on data-related decisions, programming efficiency, and best practices in OUD/SUD continuum of care.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience - Bachelor’s degree in biostatistics, mathematics, computer science, business or systems information, plus three (3) years of experience in data analysis, data management, or reporting, particularly related to SUD/OUD prevention, intervention, or recovery.
Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred Qualifications Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS : No significant physical demands aside from routine office work. Must be able to lift or exert a force up to thirty-five (35) pounds.
