Job Title: Assistant Nurse Manager - Perioperative

Location: Newark, Delaware

Salary: $99,000.00 to $138,000.00

Shift Information: Mon - Fri, Days , Full Time

Primary Function:

This role assists in administrative and clinical direction for nursing and patient care operations in a perioperative setting. The Assistant Nurse Manager shares responsibilities for all operational activities including clinical practice and patient care delivery with the Nurse Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Human Resources Management: Involved in hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, and termination decisions.
  • Leadership and Development: Acts as a role model, supports professional development, and implements strategies to improve staff knowledge.
  • Clinical Practice: Directs and supports staff, promoting a Relationship-Based Care approach, and oversees clinical standards and patient care activities.
  • Operational Management: Participates in operational planning, budget management, performance improvement, and safety initiatives.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborates across departments to support patient care and organizational goals.
  • Quality Improvement: Develops, implements, and monitors initiatives for performance enhancement and patient safety.
  • Staffing and Mentorship: Participates in staffing decisions and mentors potential future leaders.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Must have operating room experience and CNOR certification.
  • Education: A Bachelors degree in Nursing is required, and a Masters degree in a relevant field is preferred or expected to be completed within five years.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills; knowledge of clinical practices, administrative processes, and staff management.
  • Licensure: Current nursing license.
  • BLS Certification is required.
  • Professional nursing certification in a related specialty is required.

This position requires a seasoned professional capable of managing complex situations in a dynamic environment, ensuring high standards of care and effective team management.
